Paula E. Kirman is a freelance writer and editor. Her book reviews and author interviews appear regularly in a variety of print and online publications. She is also a photographer and website designer.

Paula has a Bachelor of Education in English and Music from the University of Alberta. Some of her publication credits include the Edmonton Journal, Prairie Books Now, and Where Edmonton Magazine. She is the Executive Editor of Our Voice: Edmonton's Street Magazine Society and Editor of Boyle MCCauley News, a community newspaper serving the inner city.

She is also a social activist involved in a variety of causes particularly concerning peace and poverty. She is involved with the Edmonton Coalition Against War and Racism (E.C.A.W.A.R.), which plans peace marches and rallies. Paula is the Vice President of the Edmonton Small Press Association (ESPA), an activist media and arts organization that seeks to promote independent artists, writers, and musicians as well as raise awareness of contemporary local and global issues through the arts. She is also a Member at Large on the Board of her local chapter of Council of Canadians. Paula documents local activist events in photographs and video, and archives them on her website Raising My Voice.
